All winter long, there’s cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice-skating, ice fishing and more! And nearly every month, there’s a festival or community event that’s perfect for the whole family.
The Municipality of Powassan is continuously encouraging new growth. Current projects include upgrades to municipal water and waste-water infrastructure, the development of recreational trails, and the creation of a public astronomical observatory, just to name a few.

Snow should not be deposited onto any roadway within the Municipality because of the freezing hazard and obstruction of vehicular traffic which it causes. This practice is also in direct contravene of Bylaw No. 2001-25 which states that "No person shall deposit or cause to be deposited any snow or ice upon any portion of any highway or bridge located within the territorial limits of the Corporation of the Municipality of Powassan".

Council has adopted a bylaw that reduces the weekly limits of garbage bags for household and commercial establishments.

The Municipality has adopted new ice rental contracts for groups or individuals wishing to book ice times at the Sportsplex Community Recreation Centre or the Trout Creek Community Centre.
