It will continue to provide services and opportunities utilizing its natural advantages to enhance quality of life for its citizens for generations to come.

Mission

It shall be the mission of this committee to proactively promote sustainable economic development while preserving our quality of life and our environment.

Guiding Principles

The Municipality of Powassan Economic Development Committee shall:

• Act as a catalyst for lasting economic development initiatives for the municipality;
• Strive to be an effective agent in the attraction , retention, and development of businesses or enterprises which contributes to the economic, social, and general well being of the community;
• Act, as required, as a liaison between prospective business people and elected official and municipal staff;
• Be aware, where appropriate, of the various government programs that promote economic / community development and communicate theses programs to established and potential businesses;
• Make every effort to assure that local human and natural resources are utilized;
• Make every effort to assure that projects promoted compliment the preservation of our environment;
• Operates in a frugal manner and show the utmost respect in the use of community dollars and other municipal resources.
