HST Toolkit (Harmonized Sales Tax)
Do you have questions about what Harmonized Sales Tax will mean for your business?  The Certified General Accountants of Ontario has released its Harmonized Sales Tax booklet.  This toolkit aims to answer some common questions that business owners have, provide background information, explain how HST works, and provide tips on how to prepare your business for the transition.

Canada Revenue Agency - Business Number (BN) Registration
This resource will allow you to register for a business number (among other resources). This number will be your identification when dealing with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Women's Own Resource Centre

Canadian Youth Business Foundation
The CYBF is a national non-profit organization that supports the next generation of business leaders by helping youth help themselves.

HRDC Wage Subsidy Programs
There are a few programs that serve to subsidize the cost of new employees. The site provides information on these programs.

Business Development Bank of Canada
BDC provides specialized funding for commercially viable business projects as well as a wide range of business counselling and training services.

Canadian Small Business Financing Program
The CSBF Program can assist businesses to obtain term loans of up to $250,000 to help finance “hard” costs (building, equipment, renovations etc.)

Self Employment Benefits Program
The objective of the SEB Program is to support entrepreneurs through the early stages of business growth.

NECO
NECO is a regional economic development organization, which invests in, and nurtures small business, and develops partnerships with private and public sectors to create and maintain jobs in our communities.

FedNor Innovation Fund
This program is designed to help bring new products and services to market through financial support for early stage research and development.

FedNor Youth Internship Program
Encourages employers to provide young northerners with education-related job experience, ideally leading to permanent full-time employment within Northern Ontario.

Ontario Arts Council Granting Programs & Awards
The OAC is Ontario's primary funding body for professional arts activities. The OAC supports both individual artists and organizations. Three types of grants are available.

The Northern Business Opportunity Program supports the vision of the Growth Plan for Northern Ontario by encouraging business productivity and expansion, and global investment in northern communities.

NOHFC- Northern Ontario Internship Program

The intent of the Northern Ontario Internship Program is to strengthen Northern Ontario’s competitive advantage and build economic development capacity by attracting and retaining graduates in the North. The program provides recent graduates who are interested in launching and building their careers in Northern Ontario access to internships.
