PLEASE NOTE: Due to a recent land sale, the section of McDonald Street shown on the map below, is now strictly private property.

Barricades are up, and through-traffic is no longer permitted.

Bylaw 2026-23, to Stop Up and Close a portion of McDonald Street (Trout Creek) was passed June 16, 2026.

A memo was circulated to Council in July of 2023, setting out the requirments for selling surplus land after receving a letter asking if the property could be purchased. All regulatory steps were completed and the final paperwork for the sale was recently finalized.

• Council resolution to be passed – declaring the land surplus and available for sale - Completed November 7, 2023
• Circulation of Council’s intention to sale to all adjacent land owners - Done and continued communication up until closing. 
• Notice to the public in local newspaper/notice on municipal website and sign installed at the property - October 26, 2023
• Letter of Intent to purchase for future developement from adjacent owner - February 6, 2024
• Final report to Council and Council resolution directing staff to move forward with process.
• Submission of the Reference Plan to the municipality - October 11, 2024
• Intent to purchase half of the surplus property from second adjacent owner - November 25, 2024
• Bylaw for the Sale of the Municipal Road Allowance to be brought to Council for passage - June 16, 2026
• Municipal Solicitor to move forward with the transfer of property, once all costs, including but not limited to: appraisal / advertisement / sale price / legal, etc. have been received. - Both sales finalized, September 2026.
