Pet Ownership

All residents are required to purchase a dog tag for each dog they own as per Bylaw 2020-14 Licensing of Dogs and Kennels.  Municipal dog tags are a one-time purchase that carry a computer chip that can be read with any Smart-phone.  Tags can be purchased at the municipal office.

Animal control services include animal enforcement and animal adoption/pound.  A private contractor provides these services for the municipality.  If you have concerns regarding a neighbours pet (excessive barking, running at large, etc.) or need any other animal related services, including predation issues, please call Sandy Briggs at 705-724-2676 or email sandy@wimberway.com.
